Tandartsenpraktijk Coolhaven stands for transparent, high-quality oral care in Rotterdam-West. On this page you can read everything about our approach, quality policy, practice rules and complaints procedure.
At Tandartsenpraktijk Coolhaven, preventive oral care is at the heart of what we do. We believe that regular check-ups form the foundation for healthy teeth. Through periodic check-ups we identify problems early, so that invasive treatments can often be avoided.
When we discover abnormalities during a check-up, the dentist always discusses the treatment options with you. The following points are addressed:
Minor procedures are discussed with you directly and scheduled as soon as possible. For more extensive treatments, we prepare a detailed treatment plan in advance. The costs are reviewed with you and treatment only begins after your explicit approval.
For specialised care, we refer you to a specialist. This could be an oral surgeon (oral surgery) or an orthodontist, for example. We ensure a careful transfer of your records to the relevant specialist.

Your opinion matters
We greatly appreciate your feedback. Do you have suggestions or comments about our services? Let us know — your experience helps us to continuously improve our care.
To ensure our practice runs as efficiently as possible and to provide all patients with the best care, we maintain the following rules regarding the cancellation and rescheduling of appointments.
Appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. If you do not cancel in time, we will be obliged to charge you for the reserved time.
Missed appointment: if you fail to attend your appointment, a fee of € 25.00 per 10 minutes of reserved time will be charged.
You can cancel your appointment in the following ways:
We kindly ask you to adhere to these rules. This enables us to offer the freed-up time to other patients and to keep waiting times as short as possible for everyone.
We attach great value to your satisfaction and are open to feedback. Should you unexpectedly be dissatisfied with our services, you can follow the steps below.
Most complaints are resolved through open dialogue. Through an open conversation with your dentist, we often reach a satisfactory solution together.
Our practice is affiliated with Bevlogen Tandartsen. This professional association has an independent complaints officer who mediates between you and the practice free of charge.
If you are unable to reach a resolution together, you can turn to the Oral Care Disputes Committee (Geschilleninstantie Mondzorg). For a contribution of € 75.00, your complaint will be assessed by a committee of five experts. The ruling of this committee is binding for both parties.
More information about the complaints procedure in oral care can be found at allesoverhetgebit.nl
Our practice is officially recognised as a training company by the Cooperation Organisation for Vocational Education and Business (SBB). We offer internship positions for students pursuing their dental assistant qualification at ROC Zadkine and DaVinci College.
Under the supervision of our dentist and experienced assistants, trainees gain practical experience in a clinical setting. It may therefore occur that a trainee is present during your treatment.
By contributing to the training of future dental assistants, we invest in the quality of oral healthcare of tomorrow.
The cost of dental care can vary depending on the treatment. Fees are nationally established by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa).
For treatments exceeding € 250, you will receive a written cost estimate in advance. We ask you to review and sign this estimate before treatment begins, so you can check with your health insurer regarding coverage.
Children under 18: dental care for children and young people under 18 is largely covered by basic health insurance.
