During a check-up, our dentist systematically examines your teeth for cavities, gum problems and wear on existing fillings or restorations. We also examine your jaw, oral mucosa and throat for abnormalities.
Depending on your situation, we take X-rays to inspect the spaces between teeth and the bone beneath the gums. Our digital X-ray equipment has minimal radiation exposure and the results are immediately visible.
In addition to the check-up, we also offer professional dental cleaning to remove tartar and plaque. You will receive personalised brushing instructions for optimal home care.
We recommend most patients visit at least once a year for a check-up. Children and patients with increased risk are usually invited more frequently.
Sealants are thin, protective layers applied to the chewing surfaces of molars. The grooves and pits in molars are difficult to keep clean by brushing alone — sealants fill these in, so bacteria have less chance of causing cavities. The treatment is quick and painless.
Sealants are mainly applied to children as soon as the permanent molars come through, and in that case are fully covered by health insurance. For adults, sealants are generally not covered, but they can be applied at the patient's request when there is reason to do so.
