Cavities develop when bacteria convert sugars into acids that attack the tooth enamel. If left untreated, the decay progresses deeper into the tooth and can reach the nerve, leading to pain and eventually requiring root canal treatment.
The affected substance is removed and the cavity is filled with tooth-coloured composite. This material bonds to the tooth tissue, is strong and virtually invisible. Treatment takes 30-60 minutes per tooth.
We exclusively use composite (tooth-coloured fillings). Unlike amalgam, composite contains no mercury, bonds better and looks completely natural. Existing amalgam fillings can be replaced upon request.
