Bruxism — teeth grinding and clenching — is a common problem that often occurs unconsciously during sleep. It can lead to severe wear of your teeth, headaches, jaw pain and damage to dental restorations.
A custom-made night guard (also called an occlusal splint or relaxation splint) protects your teeth against the forces of grinding and clenching. The guard is precisely fitted to your teeth, so it sits comfortably and provides effective protection. Many patients quickly experience a reduction in symptoms such as headaches, jaw pain and tension in the jaw muscles.
For athletes we offer professional sports mouthguards through our partnership with Clik.Fit. These custom-made sports guards are 3D-printed using the latest intraoral scanner technology, ensuring a perfect fit and optimal protection.
The Clik.Fit system is designed, developed and manufactured in the Netherlands. The mouthguards are made from FDA-approved materials and are scientifically supported by Dutch and English universities. Thanks to the innovative design, they offer improved shock absorption compared to traditional sports mouthguards.

The process is quick and fully digital. During a short visit to our practice, we take a digital video scan of your upper jaw using an intraoral scanner. No uncomfortable paste impressions are needed.
The digital scan is then sent to the Clik.Fit laboratory, where your mouthguard is custom-manufactured using 3D printing technology. Within a few working days you receive a sports guard that fits your teeth perfectly — comfortable, secure and ready to use.
The cost of a Clik.Fit sports mouthguard is approximately €90. For the dental treatment (the scan), treatment code M61 applies, which costs approximately €30. This amount is often (partially) covered by your supplementary dental insurance — many insurers reimburse 75% or more.
